Careful of water! Dead after 6 months. – Well, this phone is now dead. Apparently, I hadn’t sealed the charging port tightly enough before taking it in the pool. Totally my fault but you’d think once it dried out there would at least be a chance it would work. Sadly, this is not the case for me as it will not even start up. So this review will be based on my thoghts about the phone during our brief time together.

Heavy duty Doogee Android workhorse, night vision, fast and responsive. – This phone is a beast. I mean that figuratively and literally. It weighs 10 oz and feels substantial in the hand.

So far so good Doogee! – I had the S90pro last time around, was a good phone until the cat dumped water on it while it was charging. This one so far is the same size physically, so I’m used to it. I think the screen resolution was a touch better on the 90. The camera on the 96 is superior so far. Other sites suggested downloading a different camera app to really take advantage of the hardware. I haven’t yet since I’m not a picture taking fool. I still wish the tough phones would put the speaker on the front like I had on my old Duraforce. To me, that’s about the only complaint with the newer designs.

Cheap for a tough device. – Charging cord made it 2 weeks before the wires slipped from the connector sleeves, the charging port started fussing a week later, another 2.5 weeks of propping the thing to (hopefully) achieve a consistent charging, the port is totally unresponsive. I was lucky the phone holds such a charge, because I had enough time to get almost all my authentication apps and the like transfered back to my old device.
