The overall phone size is larger than the SII so I like that and I am a droid fan – Bear in mind that I moved from a Samsung SII to the S4 Active so I thought everything would be much more advanced. To a large degree this is true, and of course it is completely customized with ones choice of apps. One area I found a bit unnerving was not being able to move into a USB mode and work the external USB card within the device, moving data to my computer or to the card freely. One may store from the device to the card but rooting is a necessary and possibly hazardous process that may void the Samsung warranty if attempted. I have thus far decided against that process. My SII had rooting built in so I am wondering why this feature was not on the newer phone. The overall phone size is larger than the SII so I like that and I am a droid fan.

Display nice, good color and resolution playing videos – Display nice, good color and resolution playing videos. No obvious lag playing racing apps. Certainly slicker than my old Samsung Vibrant, which I retired only because I deserved an upgrade. Size suits me, bigger screen than some but still fits in a shirt or jeans pocket okay. I don’t plan to ever take this under water so maybe I would prefer all touch screen controls. Not sorry I spent a bit over 3 bills though I told my wife it was under two. Yeah well, she probably BS’ed me on her new winter purse so….

Galaxy… moving into the smartphone world – This is my first smartphone… yes, I know they have been around for years, but I didn’t “need” one. After quite a bit of research I decided to go with this and it is great. It was delivered quickly had all the parts necessary, looked brand new, (if it wasn’t you could have fooled me.) I hope it holds up as long as my flip phone since it cost 10x’s as much because I bought it outright and have no contract w/ AT&T anymore. But it was still less than half what a new one cost from the AT&T store, unless of course I did a contract. No problem connecting and changing our plan w/ At&t and the cost of my plan for 2 smartphones is now about $10 more with the convenience of unlimited talk & text & 300 data which we still don’t really use.

Neither samsung kies 3.0 or 2.6 recognizes this phone. Though thats a problem it seems with samsung itself. This replaced my s2. Size is nice and its alot faster than s2. I wonder why samsung couldnt have used the 13mp camera of regular s4. This has 8mp. Overall I really like this phone. If you need to use this phone as a hotspot you may have an issue. Otherwise if upgrading from s2 or s3 you will likely be happy. I wont stick it in a pool but a few rain drops wont make me panic.

its Ok – The cellphone was exactly as the picture, beautiful. but the battery didn’t work, it can’t turn on by itself, i had to put another battery from another phone, (trying stick the chargers pins in the place pushing it), and when it turned on, I finally could know that the problem was the battery. I was scared, but I solved the problem buying a new battery, I could not return it couse my shipping courier lasted 2 month to bring it here

As this is the active (ruggedized) version of the phone, I ended up giving it to my husband who is VERY TOUGH on cell phones. He will usually drop a cellphone 3 – 4 times a day on hardwood floor, gravel, or cement. This phone seems to be able to stand up to this. It is still working great after 3 months. The phone came in the time specified and was packaged well.
