Only lasted 3 years – HA! Only lasted three years (almost to date). I’m sure it’s my fault. So many apps. I’ve dropped it at least 50 times. I live and work with this phone. I monitor remote cameras constantly. About a month ago, the battery began to drain very quickly. Got a new battery, same problem. Repair shop said to “wipe it,” but I went ahead and bought another, JUST IN CASE. Best phone I’ve ever owned. Bought the last one and the new one from this seller. Shipping was very fast.

THE phone to buy if you’re wise w/your money. – I had the first version of this phone and loved it. THIS one is even better! I’ve had all kinds of phones from low to hi end. This phone can keep up with the best of them. And, if you’re a music lover this phone’s DAC and onboard Dolby will blow 99% of all other phones out of the water. The 5.5 screen size is perfect and the body size is very manageable given the 5.5″ screen; the bezels are very thin all around. Do NOT hesitate to buy this device. Not only is it a solid performer with great minimalist looks and no garish branding, it also runs a near-stock version of Android 5.1 with some very minimal but useful additions that stock android doesn’t have. I enjoy this phone much more than my Nexus 5 w/stock android. And battery life is incredible, you will NOT have to worry about that. CASES: not much to choose from, but if you want a quality and tasteful case, Incipio does make one, just search for it. Hope this helps.

ZTE SHOULD INVEST IN PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – The phone is not all that I expected it to be. Honestly, my gut was telling me to keep my previous device and cancel the order. It is not a terrible phone, hints the three stars, but it is a downgrade, in terms of features. And, the app aggregation feature has a glitch which makes it hard to group like apps together.

Disappointed – It’s with a very heavy heart that I write this negative review. I owned the original ZTE Zmax, and I was so impressed by it that I thought the follow-up would be a sure winner. I ordered 2; one for myself, and one for a friend. I work as an expat in Ethiopia, and I figured that all new phones would work on all networks. After powering up the phone and configuring the sim card to the local provider, we both found that we could only receive “2G” service on the network. Apparently, some 3G or 4G/LTE radio is either missing or inoperative on this phone.

Awesome Phone – Awesome phone. The factory unlocked version has no apps from any service installed. I would say I could install one but the phone does have a data indicator so you know how much data is used and you can set a bar to notify you when your limit has been reached or close to reaching. The phone works great. Does not lag. Picture is great. Camera can get fuzzy with certain lights but so do many other cell phone cameras. Sound is amazing. Sounds so clear coming from a cell phone.

It’s a fine phone, I suppose – It’s a fine phone, I suppose. I haven’t had any issues. But it’s nearly identical to the much cheaper Avid Plus and honestly doesn’t deserve to be called a Zmax 2. It doesn’t compare to my Zmax, and if I could find the Zmax again, I’d buy it. It’s lighter than the original, but not in a good way, more in a cheap feeling way. The battery is removable, the non-removeable battery not something I originally liked the thought of on the first Zmax, but something I grew accustomed to. The removable back cover feels cheap, but I will say having the SIM and SD easily accessible is a nice thing, compared to needing a little key on the original Zmax. Really, it’s a fine phone, just personally wasn’t worth the price and falls short of my expectations built by the Zmax.
